On the 17th of January 08, C. Sinz and my self have made a census of large gulls on the 45 km of the swiss side of the Bodensee. We counted 60 Caspians, 47 YLG and 7 Herring Gulls. The number of Caspians is a record for our country. We counted also 49...

2 cy Med Gull and ad. Med Gull (same bird as this one exacty one year before), 2 cy Common Gull and ad. polish ringed Common Gull, 2 cy LBBG (6 pics), 2cy Herring and ad. german ringed Herring and 2 cy Caspian Gull.

A beautiful 1st winter Caspian Gull was present at my local patch the first day of 2008. It is the 10th different individual since the 27th of October 2007. More pics of this bird here.
