Larus cachinnans, 25.11.07

During the last 4 weeks, I watched at least 6 different Caspians on my local patch on the Lake of Neuchâtel including this 3 cy today. More pics of this bird here.

Larus cachinnans, 05.11.07

05.11.07 : 3 Caspians were present on my local patch including the ad. female (see 25-26.10.07), a new adult (also a returning bird) with very pale iris (1) and a cracking 1 cy bird (2) only present for a few minutes !

Larus cachinnans and L. marinus, 25-26.10.07

On 25.10.07, an ad. Caspian Gull (returning bird, probably female) (1) was back on its traditional wintering site on the Lake of Neuchâtel. All the pics of this bird here (and next ones).

The long-stayer GBBG (2) is now present since two years ! All the pics of this bird here.

Argentatus vs michahellis part. 2, 19.10.07

The ad. Herring Gull is still present. After 2 weeks, its appearrance has changed. It lost its P9 and P10 and its growing P8 is longer (1). It lost some outer secondaries and rectrices.

In the water it is now shorter winged than michahellis (2) and in flight its wings look "incomplete" with the missing secondaries (unlike michahellis).
